I would really appreciate some help on a flea infestation issue in my home.?

I recently had a beautiful black lab who had become infested with fleas. I couldn't ever get rid of them and I had tried frontline and everything. I came to the conclusion that I had to give my dog up to someone who could help him, I did not want to see him suffer. Not to mention my poor son was getting eaten alive by fleas. I thought the fleas would die down after our dog was gone but there are still here. I've tried salt on the rugs (we have hardwood flooring) washing the curtains, bed spreads, vacuuming the mattresses, washing clothes, leaving soap dishes out for fleas to jump into. Also to repel them off my son and I, we have put some tea tree oil on our skin. But is there any suggestion??? I really don't want to bomb the house. Thank you so much!!!
