Help! wooden windows of my room are infested by termites.?

To my utter shock, today I noticed termites had drilled holes in one wooden window frame inside my house. I am sure these will spread at various other places soon. I am worried about wooden doors, windows and some costly books inside my house. What should I do? I am unable to get my house inspected by professionals.I will have to do everything myself. Please suggest whether application of pesticides will be useful. If so, which one will be best (there are so many available in the market)? Thanks.
